Speech Therapy

Where Speech Therapy Can Help

Most people take the ability to speak clearly and confidently for granted. However, this is not the case for many people within our community. I focus on some traditional areas of Speech Pathology and specialise in some non-traditional areas such as presentation skills:

  • Articulation / Speech Therapy – for teenagers and adults
  • Presentation / Communication training – for public speaking, podcast presenting and public relations in the corporate sector – this may include some or all of the areas listed above

Speech Pathologists may also work in the following areas:

  • Language Difficulties – helping those with delayed or disordered expressive or receptive language difficulties eg. grammar, syntax, vocabulary
  • Swallowing – helping those who have a swallowing problem due to a neurological condition such as a stroke or motor neurone disease
  • Help with Literacy – a Speech Pathologist may be able to help with reading and writing skills
  • Acquired Disorders – such as stroke, surgery, disease, head injury or other unexpected medical condition that may affect your ability to speak, or to comprehend language
For further information and to find a Speech Pathologist near to you - refer to the various Fact Sheets on the Speech Pathology Australia website.
